The vendor will be responsible for delivering, maintaining, and removing specialized collection containers at designated District facilities—Physical Plant Operations, Supply Center, and Transportation Services—with pickups and new container deliveries required within two to three business days. A rebate program is central to the arrangement, where the District receives a portion of the proceeds from the sale of scrap, calculated using the contractor’s offered multiplier applied to the American Metals Market (AMM) price multiplied by estimated annual volumes. All pricing is estimated for bid evaluation purposes only, with no guaranteed minimum or maximum quantities, and the contract does not specify a fixed term but operates on a rolling basis with service levels tied to District demand. The vendor must meet stringent compliance requirements including full adherence to OSHA and CAL-OSHA safety standards, California Labor Code Section 1773.3 for subcontractor reporting, and the California Drug-Free Workplace Act. All employees, volunteers, and subcontractors who may interact with students or have campus access must undergo California Department of Justice fingerprinting and clearance, with ongoing monitoring of criminal records required by Penal Code §11105.2. TB clearance is mandatory for those with direct student contact, though exemptions apply for remote or non-campus personnel.
