Sea Lice Genotyping

The USDA Agricultural Research Service, specifically the National Cold Water Marine Aquaculture Center, is seeking a contractor for DNA extraction and single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) genotyping of sea lice (Lepeophtheirus salmonis). This effort involves processing approximately 1,344 samples, submitted in increments of 96, using AXIOM LSAL200K 96-ARRAY genotyping on a GeneTitan Instrument or equivalent. The contractor must utilize a fully integrated Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample tracking and adhere to a minimum sample pass rate of 95%. Deliverables include raw genotyping data in .cel and PLINK formats delivered via a secure electronic portal within 60 days of sample receipt, as well as the return of all unused tissue and DNA samples to the government. This is a Total Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS 541380, with the award structured as a firm-fixed price contract. The period of performance extends from the date of award through December 31, 2026, with a total requirement of 960 plates. The government will utilize a lowest price technically acceptable (LPTA) evaluation method, assessing offerors based on price, technical acceptability, and past performance. Quotes must be submitted to the contracting officer by September 24, 2026, and prices must remain firm for 90 calendar days.
