Site Plan Review No. 26-05 (Gomez Goat Dairy)

Site Plan Review No. 26-05 involves the establishment of the Gomez Goat Dairy at a former bovine dairy and heifer feedlot facility located at 16501 Colony Rd., Lemoore, California, identified by Assessor Parcel Number 004-280-083. The project is approved by the Kings County Community Development Agency and is classified as a ministerial project exempt under Section 15268 of the California Environmental Quality Act. The development is structured in two distinct phases, beginning with an onboarding phase that includes the remodel and reconstruction of a 2,220 square foot milk barn, a 525 square foot milk house, and a 2,700 square foot holding pen, along with the installation of a 30,900 square foot corral shade. This initial phase will support a total herd size of 2,681 goats, equating to 536 animal units. The subsequent expansion phase will increase the facility's capacity to 5,880 goats, or 1,176 animal units, through the construction of additional milk stations, a 5,500 square foot commodity barn, and a 1,050 square foot truck scale. This phase also includes adding feed lanes and shading to existing open corrals totaling 141,225 square feet. For operational management, the facility will continue to utilize existing earthen storage ponds and concrete separation pits, and a new incinerator will be installed for mortality management.
