Sole Source Notice-RE: Shelving Unit Repair/Modification

The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), intends to solicit and award, on a sole source basis, a firm fixed-price purchase order in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.106(b)(1)(i), to Warehouse One, Inc. located at 7800 East 12th Street Kansas City, MO 64126. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is, 238390, Other building finishing contractors, and the Size Standard is $14 Million. A Justification and Approval has been prepared and approved in accordance with FAR 13.106(b)(1)(i) and is attached to this notice. REQUIREMENT: NARA is seeking to solicit a quotation from a sole source for the reinforcement of Tri-Boro Shelving and Partition Corp. (Tri-Boro) steel shelving sections to be completed by Warehouse One, Inc. at NARA's Lenexa Federal Records Center (AFO-LX) and Lee's Summit Federal Records Center (AFO-LS). The work includes, but is not limited to: the inspection of Tri-Boro shelving sections; replacement of damaged component parts as needed; delivery and installation of additional sway braces (to form a - brace tower on the row ends); the realignment of shelving sections to plumb (as needed); and delivery and installation of shims, floor anchors and other component parts. The purpose is to repair and reinforce the structural stability of the Tri-Boro shelving units that were delivered and installed by Warehouse 1, Inc. under three (3) contracts awarded as a result of separate competitive solicitations. In total NARA has approximately 800,000 cubic feet of Tri-Boro shelving units at AFO-LS and approximately 965,000 cubic feet of Tri-Boro shelving units AFO-LX. NARA estimates that the total value of the work required is approximately $90,000.00. PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE: The Contractor will have no more than 180 calendar days from the date of the order to complete all services. A determination not to compete the described requirement based upon responses to this notice of intent to sole source is solely within the discretion of the Federal Government. RESPONSES: This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. The Government will not be responsible for any costs incurred in responding to this notice. Only written responses will be considered. Allow one extra business day for delivery and confirm receipt of capability statement, question, or requests for clarification submitted electronically via e-mail, as the e-mail will need to pass through IT security. Capability Statements - All interested parties are encouraged to provide information on their capabilities to meet this requirement. In order to be considered a potential source, interested parties must submit clear and convincing documentation demonstrating the capabilities to satisfy the requirement specified above and advantages of the Government to consider another source. The documentation shall include prices and descriptive literature containing sufficient technical documentation to establish a bona fide capability to meet this requirement.
