The United States Department of Agriculture Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration seeks to expand the existing access control system at a privately owned laboratory in Kansas City, Missouri. Because the facility currently utilizes a proprietary IQuest system manufactured by InFront Devices and Systems, the government intends to pursue a sole source procurement to avoid the prohibitive costs of replacing the entire system during building renovations. This notice serves as a market research effort to identify interested sources capable of providing equivalent supplies and services. Small businesses are encouraged to submit statements of capability, including past performance and references, to Nathan Johnson by August 14, 2008. This process is strictly for determining whether a competitive procurement is feasible and does not constitute a request for proposals or a guarantee of contract award.
