AI Contract Overview
The Jordan School District Purchasing Department intends to award a contract to The College Board for the official Advanced Placement (AP) Exams and related AP Program services without conducting a standard procurement process. This sole source award is justified under Section 63G-6a-802 of the Utah Procurement Code, which permits such an award when there is only one source for the procurement item, when the award is tied to a donation or grant covering the full cost, or when the item is needed for trial use or testing. The district has issued a sole source request form to formally document this determination and provide an opportunity for comments. Interested parties who wish to challenge the sole source determination must submit their objections by email to the Jordan School District Purchasing Department before the posted response deadline of June 4, 2026. Challenges must include the challenger’s name or company and detailed evidence supporting the existence of other potential suppliers. If there are no objections by the deadline, the district will proceed with awarding the contract directly to The College Board for AP exam services within the state of Utah. No solicitation for bids or proposals is being conducted in this process.

Full Description
Section 63G-6a-802 of the Utah Procurement Code allows the Jordan School District Purchasing Department to award a contract for a procurement item without engaging in a standard procurement process if a written determination is made that: (a) there is only one source for the procurement item; (b) the award to a specific supplier, service provider, or contractor is a condition attached to a donation or grant that will fund the full cost of the procurement item; or (c) the procurement item is required for trial use or testing to evaluate its benefit to the procurement unit.
The Jordan School District Purchasing Department has developed this sole source request form to document the determination that a contract should be awarded to the specified vendor without engaging in a standard procurement process. This form is intended solely for comments on the proposed sole source procurement. It is not a solicitation for quotes, bids, or proposals.
To contest this sole source request before the public notice period closes, a person must submit the following by email to Jordan School District Purchasing: (a) the person’s name or company name; and (b) a detailed explanation of the challenge, including documentation that demonstrates the existence of other competing sources for the procurement item.
If you agree that this proposed purchase is a valid sole source, no action is required.
