Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source - Getinge USA Sales

The Indian Health Service, through the Phoenix Indian Medical Center, intends to award a sole source contract to Getinge USA Sales for preventive maintenance and repair services on government-owned Getinge sterilization and related equipment, including sterilizers, washer/disinfectors, ultrasonic cleaners, reverse osmosis systems, water savers, and electric boilers. This action is justified due to Getinge’s exclusive ownership of proprietary diagnostic software, specialized tools, OEM-certified technicians, and authorized replacement parts necessary to maintain and repair the equipment, making it the only source capable of ensuring compliance with CMS standards and safeguarding patient safety for approximately 140,000 annual patients. The contract has a one-year base period from June 8, 2026, to June 7, 2027, with four optional one-year extension periods through June 7, 2031, and a one-time 6-month extension option under FAR 52.217-8 valued at $35,539.56. The total estimated value, inclusive of all options, is $338,466.00, with annual price escalations reflecting a consistent 3% increase. Services must be performed exclusively by Getinge-certified Field Service Engineers using only OEM parts, with all work documented in detailed Field Service Reports submitted within 15 days of completion. Equipment must be returned to fully operational condition with a 30-day warranty on all repairs, and all services are to be performed on-site at the Phoenix Indian Medical Center.
