The work under this contract covers the concrete wharf rehabilitation and related repair works at the harbour at Southampton, Ontario. Southampton is located on the east shore of Lake Huron in the town of Saugeen Shores. (Site Coordinates: 44.50107, -81.37449) The work under this contract covers: • Removal and replacement of designated areas of the existing concrete parapet and deck on the North and South Piers. • The installation of new safety ladders. Familiarization with Site: Before submitting a bid, it is recommended that bidders visit the site and its surroundings, at their own expense and schedule, to review and verify the form, nature and extent of the work, materials necessary for the completion of the works, the means of access to the site, severity, exposure and uncertainty of weather, soil conditions, any accommodations they may require, and in general shall obtain all necessary information as to risks, contingencies and other circumstances which may influence or affect their bid. No allowance shall be made subsequently in this connection on account of error or negligence to properly observe and determine the conditions that will apply. Take all appropriate safety measures before any visit to site, either before or after acceptance of bid. It is anticipated the Contractor can perform and complete the Work in approximately 4-6 weeks. All Work must be completed by January 15, 2025.
