The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) is preparing to transition from its current IT services contract, IDEAI-2, to a new contract referred to as IDEAI-3 to continue supporting the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO). This contract will cover a comprehensive range of IT services including infrastructure, design, engineering, architecture, and integration. The notice serves as the primary communication channel for updates regarding the acquisition timeline, including anticipated dates for a Request for Information (RFI) and an Industry Day, which are key steps in the procurement process. While a solicitation number has not yet been assigned, all interested parties are instructed to direct correspondence to a designated email box, and the contract will be formally posted once details are finalized. The acquisition falls under the NAICS code 541512 and is managed by the Department of Commerce through the USPTO office located in Alexandria, Virginia. Two points of contact have been listed for the procurement: Victor A. Martinez, the Contracting Officer, and Lucy Smith, the Contract Specialist, both of whom have visibility into the process and are responsible for communication with potential sources. The IDEAI-3 contract will ensure the continuation of critical IT services that support USPTO operations, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available to aid vendors in preparing for the upcoming solicitation and related industry events.
