The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, St. Paul District, is preparing to issue a solicitation for a firm-fixed price contract to remove storm-damaged trees at the Baldhill Dam/Lake Ashtabula Recreation Area in North Dakota. The project involves the safe removal of approximately 50 to 75 blow-over, storm-damaged trees, primarily large Eastern Cottonwoods, along with some Green Ash, Box Elder, and Elm trees, located in the Eggerts Landing Campground. The work area is accessible via the campground, and the removal process will be scheduled from Monday to Thursday to minimize disruption during peak weekends. Contractors will be responsible for disposing of all tree debris off-site, with final stump heights to be less than three feet, leaving the stumps in place. The entire operation is expected to be completed within three weeks of commencement, and many trees may require specialized equipment due to their tangled and hung-up condition. Interested contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) with current FAR and DFARS certifications to be eligible for award. The solicitation is designated as a Small Business Set-Aside under NAICS code 561730, and the response deadline is August 6, 2025.
