Modular Multi-Channel Potentiostat/Galvanostat - Procurement Service - SOLE SOURCE | Copy of Sole Sourcing Posting Template
Solicitation # oregon-state-university-1271665
Oregon State University is procuring a modular multi-channel potentiostat/galvanostat from Bio-Logic USA, LLC as a sole source purchase due to the company’s unique ability to meet critical technical requirements essential for advanced electrochemical research. The instrument must feature two independent electrochemical channels with potentiostat/galvanostat functionality, built-in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, modular architecture for future expansion, and the capability to perform high-precision measurements across both high and low current ranges. It must support long-duration automated experiments and include manufacturer-backed hardware, firmware, and software updates. These specifications are non-negotiable to enable accurate characterization of porous materials and metal-organic frameworks used in carbon capture and energy storage applications, where impedance spectroscopy is vital for analyzing charge transfer, ionic transport, and electrode dynamics. The integration of EC-Lab software is required for validated methods, automation, and publication-ready data analysis, which only Bio-Logic provides as part of its integrated system. No other vendor can fulfill the full scope of needs, as Bio-Logic USA is the sole provider offering authentic hardware, licensing, calibration services, comprehensive technical support, and guaranteed future system scalability for this platform. Substitution through another supplier would compromise experimental integrity, data reproducibility, and long-term operational sustainability. The solicitation is posted under number oregon-state-university-1271665 with a response deadline of August 14, 2026, and any challenges to the sole source determination must be submitted in writing to Cassandra Hurd at cassandra.hurd@oregonstate.edu before that date. The acquisition supports critical research initiatives requiring unmatched performance and reliability, for which Bio-Logic remains the only viable solution.
