The Drug Enforcement Administration is seeking to award a firm-fixed price sole source purchase order to the Michigan Thanksgiving Parade Foundation, also known as The Parade Company, for services related to the 2026 America's Thanksgiving Parade in Detroit, Michigan. This acquisition is being conducted under FAR 13.106-1(b)(l)(i) and FAR 6.103-1, as the foundation is identified as the only responsible source with the authority and ability to stage and present the event. The primary objective of this participation is to support the Fentanyl Free America Initiative by increasing public awareness of the risks associated with illicit fentanyl. The scope of work involves the active participation of DEA members in the parade, specifically walking with the American Flag and a DEA and Fentanyl Free America banner. The period of performance is set to begin on November 26, 2026. While the government is pursuing a sole source award, it has provided a window for other capable sources to submit capability statements to the DEA Office of Acquisition by November 5, 2026, to determine if a competitive procurement is necessary. The project is managed by the DEA Office of Acquisition for the Detroit Field Division under NAICS code 541890.
