AI Contract Overview

The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity plans to negotiate a sole source contract with Purified MicroEnvironments, a division of Germfree Laboratories, Inc., to provide all necessary labor, materials, and equipment for retrofitting Class III biosafety cabinets with custom door docking flanges. These flanges are designed to connect the biosafety cabinets to animal transfer carts. Germfree holds proprietary rights to the original prototype and design, developed under a prior USAMRAA contract, and the government considers them the only acceptable source to maintain design integrity, compatibility, and consistency. This procurement is being conducted under the sole source authority due to the unique proprietary nature of the product, potential significant project delays, and cost inefficiencies that would result from competitive bidding. Although competition is not requested, the government will consider statements of capability from other responsible businesses received before the specified deadline. Interested parties must provide a capability statement to the contract specialist by the deadline indicated for evaluation.
