Intent to sole source

The Centralized Acquisition Service, VISN 6, Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Durham, North Carolina intends to negotiate a sole source procurement with Baxter Healthcare Corporation for maintenance of Drake Willock dialysis machines. This proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 603.2. The VA believes that Baxter Healthcare is the only company that can provide the level of maintenance required to keep this equipment operating per manufacturers specification as well as provide OEM parts. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer by 4:30pm local time September 14, 2005. Supporting evidence must be in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements for these maintenance services. Information may be sent to the Contracting Office, VA Medical Center, Hampton, Va. 23667 or faxed to +1 (555) 000-0000 or e-mailed to contact@example.gov . Responses received will be evaluated however, a determination by the Government to compete the proposed procurement based on the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the VA Medical Center will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Baxter Healthcare.
