Transfer of Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Zone 7’s 2025 SWP Table A Water to Dudley Ridge WD and/or Kern County WA

SWP Agreement #25024 facilitates a non-permanent transfer of up to 8,000 acre-feet of 2025 State Water Project Table A water from the Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District, Zone 7 to the Westside Districts. The recipients include the Dudley Ridge Water District and the Kern County Water Agency, which encompasses the Belridge Water Storage District, Berrenda Mesa Water District, Lost Hills Water District, and Wheeler Ridge-Maricopa Water Storage District. The transfer must be completed by December 31, 2025, for use within the respective service areas of Dudley Ridge and the Kern County Water Agency. The operation utilizes existing California Aqueduct infrastructure, specifically Reach 8D for Dudley Ridge and Reaches 9 through 16A and Reach 31A of the Coastal Branch for the Kern County Water Agency. Managed by the California Department of Water Resources, the project is classified as a Class 1 categorical exemption under CEQA Guidelines Section 15301 and California Water Code Section 1729, as it involves the use of existing facilities without new construction or land use changes. The agreement was signed on August 6, 2025, and is overseen by the Department of Water Resources.
