The U.S. Army Medical Research Acquisition Activity (USAMRAA) plans to award a sole source contract to Sesame Workshop for the development, maintenance, and promotion of interactive wellness mobile applications and related outreach efforts under the Military Families Readiness to Transition program. This initiative focuses on providing wellness tools designed for military preschoolers aged 2-5, helping them develop coping skills to manage the unique psychological challenges associated with military life transitions such as deployment, reintegration, and relocation. The program builds on Sesame Workshop’s longstanding military family initiatives, utilizing their proprietary content and characters to engage young children effectively. The contract includes sustaining existing mobile applications and websites, launching a promotional campaign to support the product portfolio, and implementing outcome reporting for select applications. Under sole source authority FAR 6.302-1, Sesame Workshop, which holds all rights to the relevant intellectual property, is identified as the sole capable provider. Interested firms believing they can meet the contract requirements must submit detailed written evidence by May 30, 2014. Responses will inform the government’s decision to either proceed with sole source award or open competition. The contract falls under NAICS code 512110, and awardees must maintain registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) throughout the contract period.
