Full Description

The VA Puget Sound Health Care System (PSHCS) located in the state of Washington, intends to award a fixed price contract for ground ambulance services. The area of coverage will include all of western Washington and portions of eastern Washington, Oregon and Idaho. This is NOT a solicitation. Solicitation VA-260-10-RP-0328 will be available on or about April 1, 2010. Documents will be available for download from www.fbo.gov. Solicitation documents will only be available in electronic format. Hardcopy documents will not be issued. Proposals will be due approximately 3 weeks after issuance of the solicitation. DESCRIPTION. The Contractor shall furnish Advance Life Support (ALS), Basic Life Support (BLS) and Critical Care Transport (CCT) ambulance services for eligible beneficiaries of the PSHCS. Services shall be provided 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. Upon the request of authorized PSHCS staff, the Contractor will provide Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance transports of patients to designated locations. The Contractor may be required to transport patients to another facility for treatment or tests, wait, and transport same patient to a pre-determined destination. The vehicles, personnel and services rendered will conform to all federal, state and local statues, rules and regulations; including, but not limited to the state of Washington, Department of Health EMS and Trauma System at http://www.doh.wa.gov/hsqa/emstrauma/ and Statutes, Rules and Legislation at http://www.doh.wa.gov/hsqa/emstrauma/rcwindex.htm; and all local codes, laws, regulations, rules and statutes. All responsive offers received from responsible businesses by the due date noted in the solicitation will be considered for an award. Contactors who wish to do business with the Department of Veterans Affairs must be registered with Dun and Bradstreet; with www.ccr.gov; and with www.vets100.com. Contractors not registered as required will not be considered for award. Registration must be current and active before contract award.
