(834 South Washington, Saginaw, Michigan, 48601; +1 (555) 000-0000) for 24 hour ambulance services for beneficiaries of the Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center. FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items: In accordance with FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501 Special Documentation Requirements, where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquisition Procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. This does not provide ample time to compete and negotiate a short-term contract, as the procurement lead time for a competitive contract of its estimated dollar value is 153 days. Furthermore, even if this requirement were competed in this short timeframe, it is not enough time to get a new contractor established. Prior to commencing work, a new contractor would need to meet various requirements, including the inspection of their facility and all vehicles intended for use under this contract prior to beginning work. As such, a sole source bridge is being sought for the time period of January 16 May 31, 2018 so that a new five-year contract can be competed and put in place.
