The project involves adding an additional lane along State Route 109 (Hickory Hill Road) to improve access to Fort Gregg-Adams at the Mahone Gate control point. The additional lane is approximately 4,210 feet in length will be designed and constructed in accordance with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) standards and specifications. This includes any specific requirements from the VDOT Richmond District Office, the Army Garrison at Fort Gregg-Adams, and the City of Petersburg. The project also includes the installation of stormwater structures, including storm pipes, ditches, and vaults, and other miscellaneous work.
