Villa Creek Estuary Restoration Project (Notification of Lake or Streambed Alteration, No. EPIMS-SLO-58208-R4)

The Villa Creek Estuary Restoration Project, identified by EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-SLO-58208-R4, is a streambed alteration agreement executed by the California Department of Fish and Wildlife pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code. The California Department of Parks and Recreation serves as the permittee, with the project located within Estero Bluffs State Park in Cayucos, San Luis Obispo County. The primary objective is to restore the Villa Creek estuary by removing remnant anthropogenic features, improving intertidal connection, and enhancing native biodiversity. Project activities include the establishment of staging areas and access roads, clearing and grubbing, grading, and the installation of exclusionary fencing and large wood features, followed by revegetation. These efforts will impact approximately 3.87 acres of salt and freshwater marsh habitat and 0.96 acres of upland habitat.
