The contract calls for the acquisition and in-service support of Line of Communication Bridge Systems (LCBS) for the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). The LCBS will be a commercial-pattern modular panel bridge system designed to support both current and future CAF vehicle fleets as well as common civilian heavy trucks in both domestic and expeditionary operations. The agreement includes four years of in-service support with the possibility of extending the contract for up to eight additional two-year periods, providing flexibility to meet long-term operational needs. Only one successful vendor will be awarded both the acquisition and support contracts, and proposals must address requirements for both components. The procurement is restricted to Canadian suppliers and those from applicable trading partners, with security requirements expected as part of the process. The Department of National Defence encourages offerors to include an Indigenous Participation Plan as part of their submission to promote Indigenous involvement. The solicitation is managed by the Department of Public Works and Government Services and has a submission deadline in early June 2026. The Crown reserves the right to negotiate with suppliers during the procurement process. The point of contact for this contract opportunity is the contracting authority, Shaun Feagan. This comprehensive approach ensures that the CAF receives a versatile, reliable bridging solution supported through long-term maintenance and adaptability.
