The Oilgear rebuilds 2022-2023 contract, managed by the Department of Defense W07V Endist Vicksburg, is a sole-source award for the repair and rebuilding of hydraulic motors and pumps. Under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), The Oilgear Company is designated as the primary source for both parts and repair services. This exclusivity is based on the requirement that all repairs meet original equipment manufacturer standards using specialized tools and training, as the use of non-OEM parts or services would void the warranties for the equipment. Separately, solicitation W912EE22B0008 concerns a firm fixed-price construction project for the Tainter Gate Replacement at Lock and Dam No. 1 (Boggs) in the Red River Basin, Catahoula Parish, Louisiana. With an estimated value between 10 million and 25 million dollars, the scope of work includes the demolition of existing gates and the fabrication and installation of new steel Tainter gates. Through various amendments, the contractor period of performance was extended from an initial 630 days to 800 days, and the project incorporated specific technical specifications for painting hydraulic structures and steel material quantities.

Authority permitting other than full and open competition for this requirement is 10 U.S.C. - 3204(a)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The Oilgear hydraulic motors and pumps must be repaired in accordance with the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards. The repairs will require specialized tools, equipment, and training. The Oilgear Company is the only known source for parts as they are the OEM. Failure to utilize OEM parts and factory service will void warranty for each motor and pump. Due to sole source for parts to repair/rebuild motors and pumps and warranty concerns, The Oilgear Company is the primary source for both parts and repair actions.
