Waukegan Outer Harbor Dredging

This Pre-Solicitation Notice is being issued by the United States Army Corps of Engineers - Chicago District to inform interested/potential contractors of the District's imminent issue of an Invitation for Bids to obtain dredging services for the "Waukegan Outer Harbor Dredging" located in the TOWN OF WAUKEGAN, ILLINOIS. PROJECT INFORMATION: Under the contract set, The Contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials, and equipment to perform Mechanical Dredging of approximately 75,000 cubic yards of material from the Waukegan Outer Harbor. Berms will be built on the Outer - Harbor disposal site to contain the outer harbor sediment in its upland disposal location. The contractor will also be responsible for performing mechanical dredging of approximately 80,000 cubic yards of material from the Waukegan Harbor Approach Channel. The contract will have Option quantities of dredging totaling 65,000 cubic yards. ACQUISITION INFORMATION: Competition for this acquisition is RESTRICTED TO CERTIFIED HUBZONE SMALL BUSINESSES. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System Code 237990, which applies a small business size standard in dollars of $33.5M. The Invitation for Bids (IFB) Package will be downloadable from the INTERNET ONLY. The project specification files are Portable Document Format (PDF) files and can be viewed, navigated or printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. Interested Bidders can download the IFB Package from the Internet Site http://www.Fbo.gov. The IFB will be available at the above-mentioned Internet site on 10 March 2014. Bids will be due by 2:00pm CDT on 10 April 2014.
