With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its Indiana Harbor Canal - Confined Disposal Facility - South Cut-off Wall, East Chicago, Indiana. The Contractor will be responsible for providing all the necessary facilities, plants, labor, transportation, materials, and equipment to perform construction activities consisting of driving 137,000 square feet of steel sheet pile tie-back cut-off wall revetment, 48,000 square feet of steel sheet pile a nchor wall, a reinforced concrete crane pad, approximately 9,000 cubic yards of soil cap and all other work required under this Bid Set including safety ladders, a floating dock, timber fenders and any required obstruction removal. Installation of the cut -off wall will include excavation to allow the placement of tie-rods, demolition of existing structures that interfere with the tie-rod placement and placement of approximately 8,800 cubic yards of fill stone behind the cut-off wall. The cut-off wall will be capped with parapet wall constructed of approximately 1,200 cubic yards of reinforced concrete. Decommissioning of up to 14 dewatering wells are also included in this Bid Set.
