AI Contract Overview
This contract opportunity is exclusively reserved for Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB), requiring firms to be properly certified in the SBA database and registered in the SAM system at the time of proposal submission. Joint ventures are allowed but must comply with specific SBA regulations and ensure the appropriate percentage of work is performed by SDVOSB participants. Additionally, contractors must adhere to federal reporting requirements related to veteran employment. The procurement process is a presolicitation, with proposals due by early June 2026, under NAICS code 236220 for construction services, facilitated by the Department of Veterans Affairs in Augusta, Georgia. The project involves comprehensive construction and renovation work at the Carl Vinson Veterans Affairs Medical Center, including correcting safety and fire code deficiencies in Building 2, adding a new storage room to the Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) store, and converting the existing uniform room into offices and retail space. The scope also covers remodeling the biohazard processing room into a uniform room, updating equipment, and renovating warehouse and logistics areas. A significant aspect includes rerouting material deliveries to avoid passage through the kitchen, enhancing facility operations and safety. The total renovation area is approximately 30,200 square feet, and the contractor must ensure uninterrupted operation of all departments during construction. Coordination and scheduling will require approval from the Contracting Officer’s Representative to minimize disruption to the medical center’s functions.

For a Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) to be considered as a prospective contractor, the firm, must be certified and listed in the SBA certification database (https://veterans.certify.sba.gov/) and registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database (www.sam.gov) at time of submission of their qualification. 2.) Project Description:
The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, equipment, and materials needed to complete work for project 557-21-101 Correct Safety and FCA Deficiencies Bldg.2 per the provided drawings, specifications, and this statement of work.
This project will also add an additional storage room to the back of the Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) store and remodel the existing uniform room in Building 41 into offices and a retail space for VCS.
This project will also renovate the biohazard processing room in the Building 2 basement into a uniform room. It is expected that much of the equipment will also need updating during this project. This project will also renovate the warehouse and logistics areas in Building 2.

Construction impacts shall be minimized and mitigated in a way that limits disruption to the functioning of the Carl Vinson Veterans Affairs Medical Center (CVVAMC).
Scheduling and coordination with the Carl Vinson Veterans Affairs Medical Center (CVVAMC) will be critical and must be approved by Contracting Officer s Representative (COR) prior to work.
