Yuba-Sutter Food Bank Cell Tower

The Yuba-Sutter Food Bank Cell Tower project, identified by solicitation number 2025110802 and Use Permit 25-01, involves the installation of an 81-foot-tall monopine cell tower at 760 Stafford Way in Yuba City, California. The tower is designed to be camouflaged as a tree and will be located on a triangular parcel within a heavy commercial and light industrial area. The facility will be unmanned and includes a backup diesel generator and other ground equipment, all of which must be screened from view within an 18-foot by 23-foot fenced lease area. Access to the site will be provided via an internal driveway from Stafford Way. The project was subject to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and underwent an Initial Study and Mitigated Negative Declaration process to evaluate impacts on aesthetics, noise, greenhouse gas emissions, and tribal cultural resources. To comply with the federal Telecommunications Act shot clock, the City of Yuba City requested and received consent from state agencies, including Caltrans and the Feather River AQMD, for a shortened 20-day public review period. The Yuba City Planning Commission officially approved the project on December 10, 2025, determining that the facility would not have a significant environmental effect.
