Y--BURNS HARBOR NIPSCO DREDGING, PORTAGE, INDIANA

With this announcement, the Chicago District Corps of Engineers issues a Pre-solicitation Notice for its Burns Harbor NIPSCO Dredging Project. The Contractor will be responsible for the removal of 200,000 to 230,000 cubic yards of material from an 8 00 x 750 area around the NIPSCO Bailly Generating Station water intake structure. The material is all littoral drift sand and will be placed either on the beach or in the nearshore area by Odgen Dunes 4 miles west of the intake structure. Placement of the material will be evenly spread along the disposal location. Any beach operations require the use of a barrier for protection of the public and a beach swallow if in a specific area before July 15. Dredging is required to start after July 1 and be com pleted no later than October 15. The Classification Code for this procurement is North American Industry System (NAICS) 237990  Other Heavy and Civil Engineering Construction this acquisition is TOTAL SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The Small Business Size S tandard is $18.5 Million. The estimated magnitude of the proposed procurement is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00.
