The Albany VAMC A Wing Facade Repair project is a comprehensive construction effort aimed at restoring and repairing critical exterior and associated interior systems across the A and B Wings of the medical center, including limited work at the wing/Core interface and the B Wing Chapel. This project involves extensive masonry repairs such as brick parapet and stone replacement, repointing, and repair of spalled or cracked concrete, alongside selective roof repairs, replacement of window and joint sealants, and repair or replacement of stone panels, coping, and lintels. Additional work includes removal and reinstallation of lightning protection cabling, repair or replacement of roof equipment supports, cleaning and painting of steel elements like doors and railings, replacement of masonry anchors, complete removal of asbestos-containing materials both interior and exterior, window replacement, interior wall repairs, and new flooring installation.
