NCFI Expansion Furniture

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, awarded a GSA Multiple Award Schedule delivery order to Business Interiors, Inc. for the provision of furniture, design, freight, and installation services. This contract supports the National Computer Forensics Institute facility expansion in Hoover, Alabama, with a planned award amount of 1,377,925.36 dollars. The scope of work includes furnishing administrative offices, classrooms, an auditorium, lobby areas, food-service spaces, and conference rooms. Specific deliverables include workstations, desks, chairs, collaborative seating, booths, couches, and specialized classroom electrostatic-dissipating desks. The award was made on a limited-sources basis under FAR 8.4, as Business Interiors, Inc. was identified as the only source capable of meeting the quality and integration requirements. Because the vendor was already integrated with the City of Hoover's concurrent facility expansion project, their existing furniture layouts, approved configurations, and infrastructure coordination were essential for compatibility with architectural plans, power and data connections, and the construction schedule. Utilizing a different vendor would have resulted in duplicative site surveys, increased costs, schedule delays, and higher integration risks.
