AI Contract Overview

The contract amendment cancels the previously issued solicitation V4054009245RIV for Air Services supporting Riverine Group II. The original solicitation, posted in September 2009, sought services to provide realistic Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) and Joint Close Air Support (JCAS) training using current Training, Tactics, and Procedures (TTP) relevant to operational theaters worldwide. This work was initially planned as a sole source award to Broadbay Group of Virginia Beach, Virginia, for a six-month period of performance. However, due to interest from other vendors, the contracting officer opted to cancel the solicitation to allow the requiring activity to reevaluate and revise the requirements for a new solicitation planned for fiscal year 2010. This decision was made to better meet the needs of the Riverine Group and potentially increase competition for the contract. Future amendments and updates will be posted online, with any inquiries directed to the designated contract specialist at the NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center in Norfolk, Virginia.

Full Description

This AMENDMENT 0002 is hereby issued to cancel solicitation V4054009245RIV posted on 03 September 2009. The solicitation required AIR SERVICES for Riverine Group II. Services included, but not limited to, realistic Joint Terminal Attack Controller (JTAC) and Joint Close Air Support (JCAS) training using Training, Tactics and Procedures (TTP) currently used in operational theaters around the world. The solicitation included provisions for a period of performance of six months and was to be awarded on a sole source basis to Broadbay Group of Virginia Beach Virginia. Based on other interested vendors from industry, the contracting officer determined that it was in the best interest of the government to cancel the solicitation in order for the requiring activity to re-assess the requirements for a new solicitation in fiscal year 2010. Given the changes required to the requirement, the Riverine Group firmly believes that cancelling the existing solicitation and issuing a revised solicitation is the appropriate way ahead. It may also lead to increased competition for the requirement. All future amendments to the solicitation shall be posted on this same website. Any questions can be referred to contract specialist at: contact@example.gov, (referencing solicitation no. V4054009245RIV).
