The contract pertains to commercial support services for AH-1 and UH-1 helicopters and T53 engines under the AMCOM Security Assistance Management Directorate's Fair Share Sustainment Program (FSSP). It is a Draft Request for Proposal (DRFP) aimed at gathering information and planning a future competitive procurement, rather than awarding a contract at this stage. The anticipated contract, if issued, would be a single-award, indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (ID/IQ) agreement lasting up to 10 years, providing a wide range of aviation engineering services, including maintenance, overhaul, modifications, technical support, supply management, and training for multiple helicopter variants and associated turbine engines. The scope is focused strictly on U.S. firms operating within the continental U.S. due to export control restrictions related to Foreign Military Sales (FMS) funding. This DRFP serves as a preparatory step to refine the solicitation and evaluation processes, inviting interested contractors to submit comments or suggestions to improve acquisition efficiency. Key dates include the anticipated publication of the Statement of Work and DRFP in late February 2003, with responses due by early April 2003. All interactions and inquiries will be managed via an online platform, with no hard copies provided, and questions must be submitted in writing through an established email contact. The Office at Redstone Arsenal, Department of Defense, is the responsible agency, emphasizing the program’s alignment with international security assistance and sustainment priorities.
