15--V-22 Avionics and Flight Control Systems Engineering and Software Maintenance Support

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) is preparing to issue a task order under an existing Basic Ordering Agreement to Bell-Boeing for engineering and technical support services related to the V-22 tiltrotor aircraft. These services encompass management of the V-22 avionics and flight control systems as well as maintenance of the on-aircraft software following the completion of the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) phase. The support includes various activities such as administrative, financial, and technical data reporting, program and configuration management, sustaining engineering, and software support. Bell-Boeing, as the original designer, developer, and sole manufacturer of the V-22 aircraft, is uniquely positioned to provide these services due to their exclusive access to the necessary engineering data, specialized technical skills, and comprehensive knowledge of the aircraft’s design, fabrication, performance, and operational characteristics. The contract facilitates continued collaboration and maintenance to ensure the operational readiness and ongoing support of the V-22 avionics and flight control systems, reinforcing the Department of Defense’s commitment to maintaining this critical aircraft's capabilities.
