The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to procure the manufacture, machining and assembly of the fixed portion as well as partial rotating portion of the VIRGINIA Class Submarine propulsor comprised of Forward Assembly, Aft Assembly, and Tailcone. Spare components and auxiliary spare fasteners, and Engineering Services are included. The base year provides for up to two systems. The solicitation also includes 4 option years for a total quantity of eleven systems, spare components, including three tailcones, and auxiliary spare fasteners. The solicitation will be issued to BAE, Armament Systems Division, since it is the original equipment manufacturer and sole supplier of the propulsor systems. BAE is the only company which possesses the design, data and expertise necessary to provide the supplies within the time required to meet the Navy?s requirements. See Numbered Note: 22
