2011 Vehicle Synopsis Notice - VRTC

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) through its Vehicle Research and Test Center (VRTC) in East Liberty, Ohio, plans to competitively procure both new and used motor vehicles from commercial dealers located within a reasonable proximity to the VRTC. This localized procurement approach aims to minimize transportation and delivery costs while expediting the availability of vehicles needed to support ongoing research and testing activities. The vehicle types required may range from passenger cars to large heavy trucks, but specific requirements have yet to be determined. This contract notice serves primarily as an informational announcement for interested dealers to express their interest and stay informed about upcoming solicitations. Delivery and procurement activities are expected to continue through the end of fiscal year 2011, under the authority granted by 49 U.S.C. 30168. Competitive bidding procedures will be used for vehicles with a purchase price of $25,000 or more, eliminating the need for additional synopses for those transactions.
