The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), Office of Border Patrol, Yuma Sector Specialty Programs, is implementing the Tactical Communications Network System (TCNS) project to improve operational effectiveness and situational awareness in areas along the border with limited technology coverage.
As part of this effort, the Teledyne FLIR Ranger HDC 550X MR Camera, a high-definition, mid-range surveillance system, will provide enhanced detection and identification capabilities across varying environmental conditions. These cameras are needed as an interim capability to help detect and deter illicit activity that may evade existing border technology systems.
This acquisition will support the deployment of advanced communications and surveillance capabilities, strengthening border security and improving the ability to detect, monitor, and respond to illegal activity.
