Notice of Intent for Sole Source Award to Johnson Controls for N2 Controller Upgrade
Solicitation # FA462526Q1117
The U.S. Department of Defense, through the 509th Combat Communications Group at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri, intends to award a sole source contract to Johnson Controls for the upgrade of N2 controllers across the base’s entire controls network. This decision is based on the fact that 100 percent of the current system infrastructure consists exclusively of Johnson Controls hardware and software, making integration with competing brands technically unfeasible. The contract will include incidental installation services necessary to complete the upgrade. The action is documented under solicitation number FA462526Q1117, posted on July 16, 2026, and falls under NAICS code 335314 for Other Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing.
