The VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Boston Scientific Corp, Electrophysiology Division, 15 Baytech Drive San Jose, CA 95134, to purchase the Maestro 3000TM Cardiac Ablation System with Remote, Remote Control Cable, Pod, Foot Switch, and Operators' Manual, in accordance with FAR 6302.1. The Maestro 3000 Cardiac Ablation system & Maestro 3000 Remote Control provides an indicator of tissue type (endocardial vs. venous) and tissue/tip contact to enhance ablation catheter positioning; is equipped with low pass filters designed to reduce electronic interference and provide clear electrograms during cardiac ablation; the remote control unit eliminates complex cabling to help reduce noise from other medical equipment. This ensures high-quality patient care in the EP lab. Installation from company supplying system is required since installation by any other party would void warranty. This Notice of Intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. Parties may identify their interest, accompanied by supporting literature, to the Contracting Officer no later than Friday, December 5, 2008, 4:30 p.m. Responses should be sent to contact@example.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. It is the belief of the Government that there is currently only one responsible source capable of providing this equipment to satisfy the agency requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed procurement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
