The Department of Veterans Affairs VISN 16 at the Oklahoma City VA Medical Center intends to award a sole source contract to Guldmann Inc. for the procurement and installation of six ceiling mounted patient lifts and one combilock extension. This project encompasses all necessary labor, materials, supervision, and site preparation required to complete the installation. The procurement is designated as a 100% small business set-aside under NAICS code 423450. The government is utilizing FAR 6.302-1 to justify the sole source award, citing that Guldmann Inc. is the only responsible source capable of meeting the agency's requirements. This decision is based on the necessity for the new equipment to be fully compatible with existing Guldmann sling lift systems to ensure patient safety, as the manufacturer cannot guarantee the safety of third-party components used in conjunction with their systems.
