The Department of Veterans Affairs, specifically the Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida, intends to enter into a sole source contract with BMEYE B.V. for the procurement of Nexfin Finger Cuff Blood Pressure Monitors. These devices are designated for use in the Bronchoscopy Suite to provide continuous, beat-to-beat blood pressure and oximetry monitoring. The Nexfin technology is specifically sought because its finger cuff design allows for unobstructed IV access and greater patient mobility during thoracoscopy procedures, enabling the immediate detection of significant blood pressure changes without interfering with infusions. This procurement falls under NAICS code 423450 and is being conducted pursuant to VAAR 873, 38 USC 8153, and FAR 6.302-1. While the agency intends to negotiate a sole source agreement, this notice serves as a sources-sought inquiry to determine if a competitive procurement is warranted. Interested parties were required to submit supporting literature to the Contracting Officer, Clifford Snipe, by June 12, 2009. The final decision to proceed with a competitive process remains at the sole discretion of the Contracting Officer.
