J065--FY27 GE Healthcare Annual Service/Maintenance
Solicitation # 36C24827Q0014
The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Network Contracting Office 8, intends to issue a sole source firm fixed price task order to GE Healthcare for full service maintenance coverage of government-owned GE imaging equipment. This requirement, which includes a base year and three one-year option periods, will be executed under the national High Technical Medical Equipment contract. GE Healthcare is identified as the only responsible source capable of fulfilling the requirement due to its status as the Original Equipment Manufacturer. The acquisition is being conducted under statutory authority that allows for an exception to fair opportunity, as the specialized nature of the equipment requires OEM-specific expertise. The scope of work encompasses a wide range of medical imaging technologies, including CT scanners, MRI systems, X-ray systems, ultrasound, and mammography, among others. Required services include preventive maintenance, software updates, emergency repairs, parts replacement, and uptime guarantees. Any interested parties wishing to challenge the sole source designation must provide clear evidence that competition would be advantageous to the government and include specific OEM authorization letters. Submissions must be completed by August 27, 2026, to be considered. The anticipated award date is on or after October 1, 2026, and the contract strictly prohibits the delivery of gray market or remanufactured items.
