The Department of Veterans Affairs, West Roxbury VA Medical Center, intends to award a firm-fixed price contract directly to Medtronic USA, Inc. for the supply and delivery of 26 Model 5392 Temporary Pacemakers along with corresponding patient cables (26 units each of 5492AL and 5492VL). This sole source acquisition is justified under the authority that only Medtronic can fulfill the agency’s specific requirements due to their unique capabilities or offerings, as outlined in FAR 6.302-1 and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). The procurement falls under the NAICS code 334510, relevant to medical equipment manufacturing. While this notice signals a non-competitive approach, the agency invites any other responsible sources who believe they can meet the requirements to respond by September 16, 2022, with adequate supporting documentation to assist the government in market research. However, this is not a solicitation nor a request for proposals, and requests for solicitation documents will not be addressed. Ultimately, the government will decide whether to proceed with sole sourcing based on received information. The contract specialist handling this action is Divianna Mathurin, reachable via email at [email hidden].
