The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), under the authority of FAR 6.302-1(a)(2), intends to award a sole source purchase order to Cyberware, Inc., based in Monterey, California. This award is aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the DigiSize software originally developed by Cyberware and currently used with hardware acquired by NIOSH in 1995. The software augmentation will enable the extraction of additional anthropometric measurements from both Cyberware and NIOSH-owned CAESAR 3D scan files, improve the accuracy of some of the 22 original body measurements, and implement automatic landmarking features. Continuity with the original vendor is intended to ensure compatibility with existing hardware. No competitive solicitation is being issued; however, organizations capable of providing the required services have a 10-day window from the notice posting date to present their qualifications to the contracting officer. Interested parties must demonstrate their expertise and capabilities to be considered. The government will use any responses solely to decide whether a competitive procurement is necessary. If no qualified affirmative responses are received within this timeframe, the award will proceed directly to Cyberware, Inc. All information submitted will be reviewed and considered by the government to inform their procurement decision.
