SPAWARSYSCEN Charleston intends to issue a commercial, sole source contract,in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, to Vaisala Incorporated, 194 South TaylorAvenue, Louisville, CO 80027-3024, for the AN/UMQ-12A systems, whichprovide the ability to measure atmospheric parameters such as pressure,temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction. In accordance with the Officeof the Assistance Secretary of Defense (OASD (NII)) and Joint Staff directives,GPS systems procured after 01 Oct 2006 must be Selective Availability / Anti-Spoofing Module (SAASM) compliant. This equipment is the only system thatmeets the directive. A Firm Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery, IndefiniteQuantitytype contract is anticipated.
