Full Description

The United States Department of Education (ED) intends to make a sole source award to Berbee Information Networks for maintenance support services on both the InformaCast Desktop Agent system and the Informacast Phone Enterprise for a coverage period of 10/01/2006 - 09/30/2007. The Department has an existing investment of $276,890.00 for both systems which are used in conjunction to allow one System Administrator (an official in the Department's Emergency Operations Center) the ability to transmit emergency messages to the agency's IP phones using voice and/or text (InformaCast Phone Agent) while simultaneously broadcasting the information to personnel Desktops (InformaCast Desktop Agent) either to all ED employees or select groups based on the emergency. Maintenance support services are required for both systems to ensure proper functionality in the event of emergencies where critical information can be broadcasted in a timely manner to each employee. This purchase will include: 1. InformaCast Desktop Agent Maintenance Renewal extension from 5/1/2007 - 9/30/2007- QTY: 1; and 2. The InformaCast Phone Enterprise Annual Maintenance from 10/01/2006 - 9/30/2007 - QTY: 1. This solicitation will be conducted in accordance with the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253( c)(1) only one responsible source. Berbee Information Networks is the creator of the InformaCast Desktop Agent and the InformaCast Phone Agent Enterprise and support services where no other supplies or services can be identified to satisfy agency requirements. Vendors with compatible products wishing to respond to this notice shall do so in writing to the attention of Thurl Frazier, Contract Specialist. Responses are due by Noon EST on the submission deadline.
