Full Description

NASA/JSC has an immediate requirement for one (1) Time Triggered Ethernet(TTEthernet) Monitoring Switch and two (2) Monitoring Systems. The Monitoring Switchwill be used with the TTEthernet Demonstration System which the Government purchased inFY2008. The Monitoring Systems are connected to the Monitoring Switch to collect thedata which is flowing through the switch.NASA/JSC intends to purchase this requirement directly from the manufacturer, TTTechNorth America, Inc. It is understood that these systems are only offered through themanufacturer, as the developer of the original Time Triggered Protocol. TTTech is alsothe only company which has adapted the protocol to Ethernet. All the knowledge isproprietary to TTTech. TTTech North America, Inc., is classified as a small business.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local timeon the above-specified date. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solelyfor the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on acompetitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed efforton a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solelywithin the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. Communications are tobe sent to the posted e-mail address for the Contracting Officer.
