Full Description

The U.S. Geological Survey intends to make a non-competitive purchase order to Escambia County, Alabama Tax Assessors Office located Brewton AL for high-resolution LiDAR performed specifically during the winter of 2012-13 for one county in the southern part of Alabama. The service was conducted under the generation of the Escambia County, Alabama Tax Assessors Office LiDAR program for one year from the date of award. There are no option periods. The Escambia County, Alabama Tax Assessors Office serves as the authorized and recognized Geographic Information System (GIS) coordinating entity for the County of Escambia, Alabama. The Escambia County, Alabama Tax Assessors GIS Office was created in response to the critical need for coordination in the development and use of digital spatial data. The Escambia County, Alabama Tax Assessors Office encourages GIS activities that enhance the development and use of reliable digital spatial data through communication, coordination and collaboration. The Escambia County, Alabama Tax Assessors Office coordinates state initiatives with federal and local government efforts. USGS partnership for Escambia County LiDAR with The Escambia County, Alabama Tax Assessors Office, as the authorized coordination body at the state level, is supported under guidance pursuant to OMB circular A-16; HO 12906 ''Coordination of Geographic Information and Related Spatial Data Activities" and under policy guidance from the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) (o promote coordinated development, use, sharing, and dissemination of geospatial data on a national basis as part of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI).
