Full Description

This is a notice of intent to award a sole source contract pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13.106-1(b)(1): For purchases not exceeding the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT), contracting officers may solicit from one source if the contracting officer determines that the circumstances of the contract action deem only one source reasonably available. This procurement is for a digital electronic carillon for the U.S. Military Academy's (USMA) Catholic Chapel. A digital electronic Carillon is a musical instrument and bell controller built into one unit. They store sound samples of different bell tones. The controller 'strikes' the bell(s) and play a combination of peals, tolls, rings and songs. The digital electronic Carillon had been in continuous service for about twenty years. It has had a catastrophic failure, leaving the Most Holy Trinity Chapel without Bells for Call to Worship and other mission related requirements heading into Easter. The NAICS code is 339992 and the size standard is 500 employees. PSC is 7710 - musical instruments. The estimated cost of this procurement is $34,394.00. The funds for these repairs are provided by an Army Ecclesiastical grant which expires on 28 April 2014. The Government requires delivery and set-up of this equipment to be completed by Easter 2014. The Government intends to award a single Firm, Fixed-Price sole source contract to Chime Master Systems for the digital carillon. This is not a request for quote. No quotes or bids are being solicited by the Government at this time. Any questions regarding this notice must be submitted not later than 11 April 2014 to Ms. Vivian Malta, Contract Specialist at contact@example.gov
