The proposed project consists of the California Department of Conservation, Geologic Energy Management Division (CalGEM) approving 1 permit for California Resources Elk Hills, LLC to rework the well: 326-10Z listed below, in the Railroad Gap Oil Field in Kern County. The rework project includes bringing well-repaired equipment to the site and setting it up for use. Pull sucker rods, pump and production tubing. Perforate from 5900’ to 7500’ (net footage TBD). Run production tubing, pump and rods. Remove the well repaired equipment from the site after rework is complete. Return well to production. The proposed project is located within Kern County, California, in an area where oil and gas exploration and production activities have historically occurred and are anticipated to continue. The project site lies within the San Joaquin Valley portion of Kern County, generally defined as lands below an elevation of 1,000 feet above mean sea level. Kern County encompasses approximately 8,202 square miles and is located at the southern end of California’s Central Valley. The County includes a diverse range of land uses and environmental conditions, including agricultural lands, oil and gas development areas, and desert environments. The project site is located within the southern portion of the San Joaquin Valley Air Basin, which is regulated by the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. The area is also located within the Tulare Lake Groundwater Basin, including the Kern River and Poso Hydrographic Units, which are subject to Regional Water Quality Control Board oversight.
