The Mission and Installation Contracting Command at Fort Riley, Kansas, intends to exercise a six-month sole-source contract extension with U.S. Foodservice, Inc. for the supply of food and food service items to Irwin Army Community Hospital. This extension, valued up to $295,000, will be carried out under the Federal Acquisition Regulation authority permitting sole-source awards. The contract ensures the delivery of a comprehensive commercial product catalog tailored to meet the diverse dietary and economic needs of the hospital facility. Key requirements include a variety of food types with nutrient modifications suitable for healthcare settings, multiple product options across food categories and price levels, various pack sizes, and a broad inventory that includes cleaning supplies, small food service equipment, fresh produce, and paper products used within the hospital. The contract emphasizes maintaining sufficient inventory levels to minimize special orders, although a process remains for ordering non-routine products. Deliveries are expected two to three times per week to meet the hospital's operational needs. While the notice announces an intent to extend the existing contract solely with U.S. Foodservice, the Government invites other potential sources to demonstrate their capabilities, pricing, and ability to meet the contract’s requirements within 15 days of the notice posting. This is not a solicitation or request for proposals but a means to assess whether a more competitive option exists that could benefit the Government. Responses must be submitted to MICC Fort Riley by the specified deadline for consideration.
