The contract involves a Notice of Intent to award a sole source contract to AMTEX Global Services for providing meals to Utah Army National Guard Soldiers training at Camp Guernsey, Wyoming. Specifically, the contract covers the purchase of 1,060 breakfast meals on June 15 and 16, 2014, and 1,300 dinner meals on June 15, 16, 23, 24, and 25, 2014. AMTEX Global Services currently operates the dining facility at Camp Guernsey, which justifies the sole source award under the regulatory authority allowing other than full and open competition. This notice serves as the Government's only announcement of intent to negotiate exclusively with AMTEX, but it invites certified vendors capable of providing these meals to submit a written interest by May 27, 2014, for potential consideration. The agency managing this action is the Department of Defense, specifically the Utah Army National Guard office located in Draper, Utah. Qualified responders must provide clear evidence demonstrating the benefit of competition, though the Government retains sole discretion to proceed without competition if deemed in its best interest. No deadline extensions will be granted for responses. This procurement ensures that soldiers receive timely meals during their training period, maintaining operational readiness and support at the Camp Guernsey site.
